IB is the short name of IBO, which is International Baccalaureate Organization. It provides quality courses in the international education and rigorous assessment.
How old is the IB Curriculum?
IB was founded in the 1968 with its first program named DIPLOMA PROGRAM, meant for the classes 11 and 12 for the students aged 16 to 19 years.

What is the CORE of IB Diploma
The core of IB Diploma is composed of three elements namely: EE, CAS and TOK.
What is EE?
EE stands for EXTENDED ESSAY, which is also one of the CORE elements. It is a mini research paper written in one of the 6 subjects a student chooses to study in IB Diploma. This is written in 4000 words. it is research and analysis oriented.
What is CAS?
CAS is also one of the CORE elements. ‘C’ stans for CREATIVITY, ‘A’ for ACTIVITY and ‘S’ stands for SERVICE. All students must complete a minimum 50 Hrs of each of C, A and S reaching to a final total of 150 Hrs in two years.
What is TOK?
TOK means the Theory of Knowledge, which is a course in the core of the IB Diploma Curriculum model. This is a 100 Hours course to be studied in two years of IB Diploma.
What is IM?
IM is International Mindedness. It is the central focus of the teaching and learning process in the IB. All topics and concepts are taught and learnt in global perspective.
What is LP?
LP is a short form for LEARNER PROFILE. IB has shortlisted a list of 10 attributes which should be developed during the study of IB courses and such should be an IB Learner’s profile.
What is the difference between HL and SL?
Students who study IB Diploma may take any subject at either HL or SL which means the students may decide the degree of difficulty. HL subjects are taught for 240 hours in two years time whereas the SL subjects are taught in 150 Hours.
How many subjects one has to study to complete the Diploma?
Typically a full diploma student completes 9 components including 6 subjects and 3 core elements (EE, CAS and TOK)
What is the age requirement to study diploma?
The IB Diploma is a HIGH SCHOOL qualification which is meant for students of class 11 and 12. where the minimum age can be 15 to 16 years and the maximum limit can be 19 generally but these are not strictly prescriptive.
What is ‘Predicted Grades’ ?
Based on the students’ assessments through the two years of IB Diploma, they are awarded a marksheet which the teachers prediction of what a student will get in the final exams. Based of the Predicted Marksheets students may apply to get the provisional admissions.
Is IB acceptable in India?
The IB Diploma qualification has been accepted by the AIU (Association of Indian Universities) as a qualification equivalent to all other HIGH SCHOOL qualifications.

Is it a completely computer based study course?
NO. Rather it is very traditional course but YES for it has scope for Internet research to explore the contents as well as ideas.
Is it really very hard in comparison to the CBSE?
NOT Really. It only needs to be taken really REGULARLY otherwise the work may easily pile up and then you may end up saying its impossible to complete it.
What are the teachers’ eligibility qualifications to teach IB DP?
All DP teachers are essentially Post Graduates with a Teaching Qualification and relevant IB Workshops.
